I’m running Windows XP pro. I bought my wife a Dell laptop with Windows Vista. She has had nothing but problems and Dell hasn’t been worth a damn with their tech support. I will not buy another Dell computer either. I think she should get Windows 7 for free.

not only should they allow a free upgrade to windows 7, they should make the upgrade compatible with the version of vista that you have. i was an xp pro user who upgraded to vista ultimate when it came out. if i want to upgrade to windows 7 i have to upgrade to the most expensive version! if i had the foresight to see what microsoft was up to, i would have stayed with xp pro.

I do agree with everyone who thinks microsoft should do the good thing for vista user. I have just bought a desk top with windows 7, it is brilliant. I have become so frustrated with my laptop that runs vista home. My friend keeps saying to me, just upgrade to widows 7. It is very annoying just sitting and waiting for your vista to load.

I think that everyone who purchased a computer that came with Vista Home Premium should be given a FREE upgrade to Windows 7. Microsoft should advise everyone involved, and give this to them free of charge.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WINDOWS MICROSOFT PRODUCT,stupid me bought not 1 but 2 windows vista computers after had 98 os was happier with 98!!!!!!! On top of the disappointment was insulted by no support of their STUPID PRODUCT!!!! Constant problems was from brabd new MICROSOFT HAS GONE DOWNHILL IN QUALITY IN MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why should I spend more to get a better system just to browse the internet and checking emails?

An OS should do its job without getting in user’s way. Vista just SUCKS!!!!

i think you got the names right i.e #windows visturd lol they are great .
i have a pretty high spec laptop so i don’t see so many issues that other people see. but i can say i have xp and win7 on the same system and they both fly compared to vista.
microsoft should be offering a free upgrade to win 7 or even a downgrade to xp just so lower spec systems can actually work properlyi think there would be thousands of people that would go for a downgrade to xp.

7 should definitely be free for Vista users. Fact is, Windows knew within weeks, if not days, of it’s release that Vista was a lemon. Even after I went through and scrapped every useless program I had, I suffer freezes and crashes almost on a daily basis if I try and run multiple programs or even multiple browsers at the same time. It’s ridiculous. At once point I did scrap everything and ran Linux, and you’re right…it flew. However, MS has such a stranglehold on so many programs that I had to switch back in order to get functionality out of some online features and product managers.
