It’s Windows 7 release date rumour time again! The speculation that Windows 7 will be launched later this year, and not early 2010 as Microsoft suggested, looks to have gathered some momentum. The general belief that the Windows 7 public beta is already pretty stable, has been fuelling speculation of a 2009 release. This has now been added to, with confirmation from Microsoft that there will not be a beta 2.

The Engineering Windows Blog, reports that the next version of Windows 7 will be the RC (release candidate.) This means it’s now entirely possible that the release date will be planned for just before the 2009 holiday season!
My best guess? I think it’s going to be available late October.

Expectations are for it to be released just in time for the 2009 holiday shopping season and based on the beta I looked at it is very realistic to expect Microsoft to release Windows 7 to manufacturing by December 1st. Then again, with major releases anything is possible and there is no certainty. Only time will tell.
