What’s going on over at The Register?
As I reported on 31st January, there’s an issue with the default Windows 7 UAC settings. In an effort to make the beta OS less annoying than Vista, Microsoft have set the Windows 7 default UAC setting to low (or tooooooo low). Rafael Rivera has proven that it’s possible for unauthorised 3rd party software to elevate its privileges and dump a malicious payload on the PC.
Anyhow – what confuses me is why The Register is announcing this today; when the story ‘broke’ last week?
