Windows 7 fake updates

The updates are fake and will not actually fix any bugs or add any extra functionality.  Speaking on the Windows 7 Team Blog, Brandon LeBlanc said;

“These updates allow us to test and verify our ability to deliver and manage the updating of Windows 7. We typically verify servicing scenarios during a beta.”  He continues; “These updates do not deliver new features or bug fixes. The test updates simply replace system files with the same version of the file currently on the system.”

I like that the updates are not being imposed globally and that Microsoft are edging ever closer to a Windows 7 release date.
