The recession is certainly taking its toll on IT recruitment, according to a recent survey by Langley James – a UK based IT recruitment company.
They have just surveyed over 200 people, who they initially spoke with at the beginning of January. Only 5% have so far found a new position, with over 30% of those surveyed not even getting an interview yet!
Interestingly, 1 in 10 people said that they would now accept a 10% reduction in their “salary expectations.” A further 22% said they were unable to reduce their salary, because of current financial commitments.

Does not surprise me at all. So many people looking for work, supply and demand. Always pushes wages / salaries down. Pity though.
Allan,
It’s a very tough time to be looking for work, unless you are a bailiff of course. I find it amazing that many large companies are cutting back on their IT support.
These days, every business needs reliable IT systems that work.
