A new look for The Tech News Blog

ttnb-old-lookIt’s been an GREAT day here at the tech news blog, with the launch of a brand new look!  Recent months have seen a surge in visitor numbers and we have also been referenced as a news source, by some of the most respected technology sites on the web.

These include Leo Laporte’s TWiT network, Dave Winer’s Scripting News, The BBC and ReadWriteWeb.

However, it’s not just the look of the blog that’s changing! We shall also be bringing you more tech news than ever before and have introduced a new “social media” news section too.

One thing remains the same though – Our commitment to provide you with the tech news you need, without all the usual fluff!

If you have any suggestions, either leave a comment below, send me a tweet or get in touch via FriendFeed.

Great look!!! I like the darker blue and the gray. It’s much easier on tired eyes. :)

Thanks John. There’s still a few design issues we are working on, but the feedback thus far has been totally positive.

Good point about the darker colours being kinder on tired eyes!

Looks very good Jim, the only thing that to me doesn’t seem to be as sleek as the rest are the pictures in the posts. And I get a JS error in IE8.
    But it looks really good!

      Liviu,
Thanks for the feedback – not sure what you mean regarding images on the posts – but we are aware of the ie8 java error. It’s related to the theme we are using. As this is a tech blog, very few of our readers use ie8, so hopefully it won’t bother them.

    Hi Jim,

Congratulations! The new theme is simpler than previous one. Try to optimize this theme to better support SEO! Look at sidebar headings color, etc.

I like your previous “Thesis” theme. Your customization is superb! Recently I purchased the “Thesis” theme but it is not good as yours.

Can you please share your previous theme? Thanks in advance!

I’m not 100% sure I understand your question. My previous theme was Thesis, with a very few customised elements. Otherwise, iot was almost an out of the box install.

      Hope that helps.

        Hi Jim,

        Thanks for your reply.

        I will suggest few things:

        # Try to change the colors for the ‘footer’ and ‘sidebar’ headings.
        # It is very difficult to surf the “Previous Posts” – the previous articles navigation is somewhat not good!

        I request you:

        # I like your previous “Thesis” theme. I know that you customized the theme very well. I would like to use your style for my new blog.

–> What did you mean by “Out of the box install”? Is your previous theme developed by another web designer?

Anyway, Good Site! Keep Posting Articles. Thank you.
