Samsung Electronics has announced a huge, $4billion (£2.4billion) investment, as part of their effort to reduce harmful emissions from their plants. The South Korean electronics giant has also pledged to focus more, on the development of energy efficient products.
Samsung aims to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 50% over the next 4 years. Industry commentators see these moves as being both more environmentally aware and potentially, more profitable for Samsung commercially.
This eco-friendly announcement comes as the South Korean government seeks to improve the country’s overall environmental standards, with an $84billion green initiative.
The investment is to be targeted on improving South Korea’s energy efficiency and lowering their pollution levels.
