Samsung goes green

Samsung Electronics has announced a huge, $4billion (£2.4billion) investment, as part of their effort to reduce harmful emissions from their plants.  The South Korean electronics giant has also pledged to focus more, on the development of energy efficient products.

samsung_logoSamsung aims to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 50% over the next 4 years.  Industry commentators see these moves as being both more environmentally aware and potentially, more profitable for Samsung commercially.

This eco-friendly announcement comes as the South Korean government seeks to improve the country’s overall environmental standards, with an $84billion green initiative.

The investment is to be targeted on improving South Korea’s energy efficiency and lowering their pollution levels.
