According to comScore, an amazing 80% of the UK’s online population visited a social networking site in May; with FaceBook proving to be the most popular.
To put that statistic into perspective, that accounts for 30 million people. As you may expect, the most common age group were those aged between 25 and 34. Almost 90% of people within that group had visited a social networking site in May.
Perhaps a little more surprising was that almost two thirds of those aged 55 and over were using social networks.
