Forrester say 2.2 billion people online by 2013

According to Forrester research, the number of people online will reach 2.2 billion by 2013.  Although every country is expected to see an increase in the number of people connected to the Internet, some regions will, unsurprisingly, see far more growth than others.

gobe-smallerApparently, Asia is set to see the biggest growth.  This seems to make sense, with some western countries already pretty close to reaching access saturation. Forrester predict that in 4 years, 43% of all web users will be based in Asia, with 17% of the worlds Internet users based in China alone!

Over the same period, Internet use in Africa and the Middle East is set to grow to 13%.  This represents a growth rate that’s around 4 times greater than Western nations.
