<p>Sat here on a linux based PC, writing this post &#8211; it&#8217;s easy for me to claim I am not one of the world&#8217;s biggest <strong>Microsoft </strong>fans. However, when they get things right it deserves to be noted; and I love the look of the emerging &#8216;<strong>Microsoft Surface</strong>&#8216; technology.</p>
<p><a href="http://thetechnewsblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/surface.jpg"><img class="alignleft alignnone size-medium wp-image-35" style="float:left;margin-left:4px;margin-right:4px;" src="http://thetechnewsblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/surface.jpg?w=300" alt="microsoft surface" width="300" height="201" /></a>&#8216;<strong>Surface</strong>&#8216; allows you to interact directly with a PC (which looks like a table), by moving your hands around the surface or placing objects on it (no keyboard or mouse required.)</p>
<p>So, you place your camera on the &#8216;<strong>surface</strong>&#8216; and it will know what you have done AND download your pictures direct to the &#8216;surface.&#8217; These can then be moved around the screen, resized and shared with people. Ditto with your phone, mp3 player etc.</p>
<p>No cables, no wires, no keyboard and no mouse!</p>
<p>Here is a link to some great video from my Twitter buddy <a title="Scobleizer" href="http://scobleizer.com/2008/05/24/this-is-why-i-love-the-tech-industry" target="_blank"><strong>Robert Scoble&#8217;s website</strong></a>. It shows him using &#8216;Surface&#8217; while interviewing Microsoft&#8217;s Andy WIlson. Take a look and let me know what you think! <a title="Scobleizer surface" href="http://scobleizer.com/2008/05/24/this-is-why-i-love-the-tech-industry" target="_blank"><strong>Click here</strong></a> to see Microsoft Surface in action.</p>
<p>Thanks to <strong><a title="Gizmodo" href="//tinyurl.com/5hsdvq?phpMyAdmin=oFZ8AYnBqMAgNrr%2CiY8hEIFK3sd" target="_blank">www.gizmodo.com</a></strong> for the picture.</p>
